Shopware Community vs Rise vs Evolve vs Beyond: which edition does a B2B project actually need?

Shopware lists Community Edition as free and self-hosted, Rise from €600 a month excluding VAT, Evolve from €2,400, and Beyond by quotation, all read 20 August 2026. Two gates decide which is yours: B2B Components are Evolve and Beyond only, and Multi-Inventory is a Beyond feature. So a B2B project starts at €2,400 a month and a multi-warehouse project has no published price.

What do the four Shopware editions cost?

Shopware publishes its plan prices, which puts it ahead of most B2B commerce vendors. These are the figures on shopware.com/en/pricing as read on 20 August 2026, and Shopware ships releases monthly, so re-check before you build a business case on them.

There is no GMV or transaction-fee component on that pricing page, so the licence does not climb as your revenue does. That is a genuine structural advantage over platforms that take a percentage, and it is worth modelling over five years rather than one.

CriterionPublished priceHostingWho it is actually for
Community Edition"Free" and "€ 0". The open source, MIT-licensed core.Self-hosted only. Shopware states: "It is not available in the Shopware Cloud, setup and maintenance are your responsibility."A catalogue-and-cart build with a development partner, or a proof of concept. It contains none of the B2B Components.
Rise"From € 600 /month excl. VAT"Available as SaaS or PaaS, or self-hosted.A commercial storefront that needs Shopware’s supported commercial features but no B2B behaviour. There is no B2B tier below Evolve.
EvolveThis is the number that belongs in the business case on day one, not in month four."From € 2,400 /month excl. VAT"Available as SaaS or PaaS, or self-hosted.Every genuine B2B project. B2B Components, Quote Management and Dynamic Access all appear here and not below.
BeyondThe moment your requirement includes stock per warehouse in the storefront, the published-price conversation ends."Custom", by contact with sales. No published figure.Available as SaaS or PaaS, or self-hosted.Anyone who needs Multi-Inventory or Subscriptions. Multi-warehouse stock is the usual reason a mid-market distributor lands here.

Which Shopware features sit behind which plan?

This is the part that changes budgets, and it is scattered across three pages of Shopware’s own site. The table collects it. Every entitlement below was read on 20 August 2026 from Shopware’s pricing page, its B2B Components product page, or its documentation.

The two rows to look at first are B2B Components and Multi-Inventory. Between them they explain almost every Shopware quote that came in higher than the buyer expected.

Shopware feature entitlement by plan, read 20 August 2026.
CriterionLowest plan that includes itWhy it decides a B2B project
B2B Components, all nineEvolve. Shopware states: "B2B Components are included in the Shopware plans Evolve and Beyond." Documentation adds that they arrive via the Shopware Commercial extension.Employee accounts, approvals, organisation units, budgets, quotes, quick order and shopping lists all live here. Without them Shopware is a very good B2C platform.
Quote ManagementEvolve. The buyer-raised quote loop is one of the two or three things that make Shopware worth its cost against a hosted platform. It is not available lower down.
Dynamic AccessEvolve.Product, category and content-block visibility per customer group. Any dealer-only or contract-only catalogue depends on it, working in cooperation with the Rule Builder.
Multi-InventoryAlmost nobody states this before a proposal is written. Ask about it in the first meeting.Beyond. Shopware’s documentation lists it under Shopware Beyond, and Beyond has no published price.Stock per warehouse, with warehouse groups and priorities. A distributor with three branches usually assumes this is table stakes. On Shopware it is the top plan.
SubscriptionsBeyond.Relevant if any part of your revenue is recurring. Note that Shopware’s B2B Components do not include a scheduled reorder engine, so recurring B2B ordering is a separate question from this one.
Rule Builder and Flow BuilderCommunity and up. Both appear at every tier on the pricing page.Good news for a lean build. The Rule Builder drives payment and shipping availability, promotions and advanced price calculation, though product and category visibility through it requires Dynamic Access.
Running your own pluginAny plan, but not on Shopware Cloud. Shopware’s extension guide records that plugins cannot be installed in Cloud shops.A custom ERP connector is a plugin. This turns an edition question into a hosting question, and it is the single most overlooked constraint in Shopware budgeting.

Buying Evolve does not mean you have every B2B component yet

There is a second gate underneath the plan gate, and it catches people already running Shopware. Each B2B component carries its own minimum Shopware version, so an Evolve customer sitting on an older 6.5 or 6.6 install can be fully entitled to a component and still not able to switch it on.

These minimums were read from Shopware’s commercial-features documentation on 20 August 2026. Shopware’s current release was 6.7.13.0, published 5 August 2026, with 6.6 still receiving maintenance, so an upgrade is the price of admission for the newer components.

The practical consequence: if your requirement list leans on Budget Management or Individual Pricing, your project includes a Shopware major-version upgrade whether or not anybody has said so. Price it.

The nine B2B Components and their minimum Shopware version, read from Shopware documentation 20 August 2026.
CriterionMinimum Shopware versionWhat it does
Quick Orders6.5.4.0Ordering by product number, or by uploading a list of numbers and quantities.
Employee Management6.5.6.0Employees associated with a company customer, acting on its behalf, with roles that define their permissions.
Quote Management6.5.6.0The buyer raises a quote request from the cart; the merchant reviews, can discount individual items, and an accepted quote becomes an order.
Organisation Units6.5.6.0Departments or locations inside a company, each with their own parameters such as shipping addresses or payment methods.
Order Approvals6.5.8.0An approval workflow, with rules deciding which roles authorize based on conditions such as order total or payment method.
Shopping Lists6.6.3.0Reusable product collections a buyer can maintain and share.
Advanced Product Catalogues6.7.0.0Controls which categories and products are visible to which organisation unit.
Budget6.7.4.0Spending limits per organisation unit, with reset cycles and approval triggers.
Individual Pricing6.7.8.0A rule-based catalogue pricing engine applying customer and organisation-unit-specific discounts.

What the Shopware licence price does not include

Four cost lines that sit outside the plan figure, listed because a comparison against a hosted platform is meaningless without them.

Hosting and operations. Community is self-hosted by definition, and on the paid plans a custom ERP connector forces self-hosted or PaaS, because plugins cannot be installed in Cloud shops. Somebody has to patch, monitor, back up and restore that environment, and "our agency does that" is true only while the retainer is paid.

The ERP integration itself. There is no A native connector is integration software published by the ERP or platform vendor themselves, configured rather than built. Acumatica ships native connectors for Shopify and BigCommerce. for Acumatica or Cin7 maintained by Shopware or by either ERP vendor, so this is a commissioned build with an ongoing maintenance agreement behind it. It is usually the largest single line in a Shopware B2B budget.

Payments. Shopware Payments exists but Shopware states it "is currently available only to merchants with their registered office in Germany or Austria", with wider expansion described as planned. A North American merchant is using a third-party gateway and paying for it.

The upgrade you did not plan. If a component you need has a minimum version above your install, the upgrade is part of the project.

Who should stop before Evolve?

Acro Commerce is a Shopware Platinum Partner, so treat this as the section with the least commercial upside for us and the most use for you. Six readers who should not be buying Evolve.

The first three should probably not be buying Shopware at all.

  • Your published pricing is three or four stable tiers and a nightly push would be fine. Shopify B2B or BigCommerce with a vendor-maintained ERP connector reaches the same outcome without a €2,400 monthly floor.

  • You need multi-warehouse stock and cannot enter an unpriced negotiation. Multi-Inventory is Beyond, and Beyond has no published number, so budget certainty is not available on that path.

  • You want software as a service and a custom ERP connector at the same time. Shopware cannot sell you both, because plugins do not run on Cloud.

  • You are running a proof of concept or a catalogue-only site with no company accounts. Community Edition is free and genuinely capable, and you can move up later.

  • Your requirement is really one component, say quick ordering by part number, and everything else is standard. Price a smaller platform plus a bespoke ordering screen against an Evolve subscription before you assume Shopware wins.

  • You are on Shopware 6.5 or 6.6 today, your business case depends on Budget Management or Individual Pricing, and nobody has budgeted the version upgrade those components require.

The wider picture

This page answers one narrow question. Acro Commerce covers the strategy around it.

Common questions

Which Shopware plan includes B2B Components?
Evolve and Beyond. Shopware states on its B2B Components page that "B2B Components are included in the Shopware plans Evolve and Beyond", and its documentation adds that they are available from the Evolve plan via the Shopware Commercial extension. Evolve is listed from €2,400 a month excluding VAT. There is no B2B tier below Evolve, so Rise at €600 does not get you there. Read 20 August 2026.
Which Shopware plan do I need for multiple warehouses?
Beyond. Shopware’s Multi-Inventory documentation lists the feature under Shopware Beyond, and Beyond is quote-only with no published price. Multi-Inventory holds stock across locations, managed through warehouse groups and priorities configured with the Rule Builder, and Shopware documents no allocation algorithm for how an order is filled across them. Read 20 August 2026.
Is Shopware Community Edition usable for a B2B storefront?
For a simple one, yes, and it costs nothing. Community Edition is the MIT-licensed open source core, it is self-hosted only, and Shopware states it "is not available in the Shopware Cloud". It includes the Rule Builder and Flow Builder. It does not include any of the nine B2B Components, so employee accounts, approvals, organisation units, budgets and buyer-raised quotes are all absent.
Does Shopware charge a percentage of sales?
Not according to its published pricing page as of 20 August 2026, which lists monthly plan prices with no GMV or transaction-fee component. That makes the licence cost flat as volume grows, which is a real structural difference from platforms that take a percentage. Payment processing fees are separate and belong to whichever gateway you use.
We are on Evolve already. Do we get every B2B component?
You are entitled to them, but each component has its own minimum Shopware version. Individual Pricing needs 6.7.8.0, Budget needs 6.7.4.0, Advanced Product Catalogues needs 6.7.0.0, and Order Approvals needs 6.5.8.0. If you are running 6.5 or 6.6, the newer components require a version upgrade first, and that upgrade belongs in the project plan. Read 20 August 2026.
Are the Shopware prices in euros a problem for a North American buyer?
It is a budgeting detail rather than a blocker, but plan for it. The published figures are in euros and stated as excluding VAT, so a Canadian or US buyer is exposed to the exchange rate on a recurring cost. Confirm the billing currency, the contract term and the renewal escalation with Shopware in writing rather than converting the published number and moving on.
